Easy Scarf Knitting Pattern for Beginners
When I saw this scarf, I just knew I had to get the pattern and knit one up for myself. This easy scarf knitting pattern for beginners worked up very quickly and the contrasting colours really make the bobble stitches pop.
I knitted one bobble stitch scarf for myself in the colours shown that were suggested by the pattern, but I made two more scarves, one for each of my sisters.
I knitted one bobble stitch scarf in a teal with white bobbles and edging and another in a lime green with white bobbles and edging. While my knitted bobble stitch scarf is subtler, both of my sisters’ scarves are very bright and the bobbles really stand out.
I think I will have to make myself another knitted bobble stitch scarf in a bright colour like theirs.
The bobble stitch on these knitted scarves creates a very fun texture and interest. The knitted bobble stitch scarf easily adds to an outfit and gives the outfit much more personality.
Additionally, the design of this scarf has an opening to pull one side through the other to close the scarf without having to actually tie it. This is a great design feature since tying it can stretch the stitches and cause it to become warped.

Shaded Bobble Stitch (drop very next stitch off of needle. Unravel next 4 rows down. Into the 5th row you will insert needle under the 4 strands that have been unravelled. The take the left hand needle and insert into the 5th loop and knit with 4 strands together)

SBS (shaded bobble stitch)
You will need to check your gauge for this pattern.
In Stockinette Stitch:
22 stitches x 30 rows should be 4 in/10 cm
Adjust your needle size for correct gauge.
