Fox Toy Knitting Pattern

The Toy Fox Knitting Pattern

I don’t know about yours, but my little ones just love when I knit them their own animals and dolls. They know mommy made these fun toys just for them.

Knitting toys and clothing for my children always brings me joy, both during the process of making these items and then again and again when I see them using the things I’ve made!!

Recently, I made this soft, stuffed toy fox for my youngest and he carries it around with him all of the time including to bed! He just loves it.

This fox knitting pattern is for a cute and quirky toy fox. It is small enough for little ones to carry around with them and play with any time they like!

And who says a soft and squishy knitted fox is only for children? I have a cousin that would just adore this fox and enjoy adding him to her collection of foxes!

There’s nothing wrong with being young at heart after all!

This toy fox knitting pattern designed by Rian Anderson is all kinds of adorable. From his perky ears and slight smile to his booted feet and big puffy tail, everyone is sure to love this little guy!

How to Work the Fox Knitting Pattern

The toy fox knitting pattern requires an intermediate skill level.

The PDF digital pattern includes detailed instructions and lots of photos.

To make the toy fox you will need to use DK or 8-ply yarn. You will also need straight knitting needles in size US 4 or 3.5 mm.

You will also need a tapestry needle and stuffing. The pattern called for 1 pair of 10 mm safety eyes, but you could use some black yarn and work up your own eyes if you’re uncomfortable with the other eyes as a potential choking hazard.

The toy fox knitting pattern uses approximately 60 grams of orange yarn, 10 grams of black yarn and 15 grams of white yarn.

Something to keep in mind, of course, is that you could always change things up and use different colors than those that are recommended!

The finished size of the toy fox is 8 inches or 21 centimeters.

Gauge is important for this project. 23 stitches by 30 rows of stocking stitch should equal 4 inches.
