Gnomes are having their moment in the spotlight right now, and I’m here for it! Gone are the days of gnomes banished to the garden. Nowadays, you can see gnomes popping up all over the place. And, of course, knitting one yourself is the best kind of gnome!

If you love gnomes as much as I am, it’s better to start today, so you’ll have plenty of time to make oodles of these gnome knitting patterns.

It is easy to see why everyone is so obsessed with gnomes these days! You can make them in endless varieties for every imaginable holiday and season. Of course, there are plenty of Christmas gnomes patterns, but you’ll see variations below!

Here we have 6 of the forest dwellers; Misses Primrose, Lily of the Valley and Bluebell. And Masters Oak, Blackberry and Blueberry. The forest gnomes stand at approximately 8 inches/20 cm if worked in double knit yarn; you could use Aran of course and they will be a little bigger. 

Their feet, legs, bodies and heads are knitted as one piece, flat and assembled. Arms and hats are knitted separately and attached. I found them a wonderful stash buster and had fun matching up my oddments of yarn to create them all.
