I have been seeing so many wonderful and creative new pumpkin knitting patterns coming out this last year or two. I just had to compile a list of my favorites and share them with you! The pumpkin knitting pattern by Emma Du of Emmacrochetdesign4U has created a set of patterns to make the same pumpkin but in 3 different sizes!
They are quick to make and seem to be fairly simple. It looks as though the entire project is worked in stockinette stitch.
The designer worked up her pumpkins in a few different colors, showing the versatility of the project.

4. Seed Stitch Pumpkin Knitting Pattern by Gina Michele
Seed stitch gets its name from the texture of the knitted fabric because the little purl bumps look like scattered seeds. Seed stitch consists of single knits and purls that alternate both horizontally and vertically.
These pumpkins are knit on straight needles using knit and purl stitches. The pumpkin shape is created by running yarn through the center and around the sides to create ridges. Finally, yarn is threaded through the top of the pumpkin and braided to create a cute stem.
