Knitted pumpkins are a popular fall decor item in store, but making your own is even more special. I have been seeing so many wonderful and creative new pumpkin knitting patterns coming out this last year or two. I just had to compile a list of my favorites and share them with you! You’ll find big squishy pumpkins, little pumpkins to sit on the table or mantelpiece, and pumpkin-inspired patterns for hats, bags, and toys.

1. Pumpkin Knitting Pattern

The pumpkin knitting pattern by Emma Du of Emmacrochetdesign4U has created a set of patterns to make the same pumpkin but in 3 different sizes!

They are quick to make and seem to be fairly simple. It looks as though the entire project is worked in stockinette stitch.

The designer worked up her pumpkins in a few different colors, showing the versatility of the project.

2. Pumpkin Knitting Pattern

The pumpkin knitting pattern by Tatyana Korobkova owner of the Etsy store Deniza17 has the instructions for three cable knit pumpkins in three different sizes.

Sizing

The pumpkins can be made in three sizes. The smallest pumpkin measures 5,1 inches by 5,5 inches, or 13 cm by 14 cm. The medium size pumpkin measures 6,7 inches by 6,7 inches or 17 cm by 17 cm. The largest pumpkin measure 7,9 inches by 9,8 inches, or 20 cm by 25 cm.

Yarn–The designer suggests Nako Sport Wool, however, any Bulky (7 wpi) weight yarn will work.

Needles–4 Double pointed US 6 (4.0 mm)

4. Seed Stitch Pumpkin Knitting Pattern by Gina Michele

Seed stitch gets its name from the texture of the knitted fabric because the little purl bumps look like scattered seeds. Seed stitch consists of single knits and purls that alternate both horizontally and vertically.

These pumpkins are knit on straight needles using knit and purl stitches. The pumpkin shape is created by running yarn through the center and around the sides to create ridges. Finally, yarn is threaded through the top of the pumpkin and braided to create a cute stem.

6. Knit Buffalo Plaid Pumpkin Pattern by Marie Mayhew Designs
